Your role at DEDIQ: investor, creator, entrepreneur

What sets us apart: the integration of both investment and operational responsibility. You will work closely with our portfolio companies, develop value creation strategies and measures, and take ownership of their execution. At the same time, you will accompany new investments – from the initial idea through the transaction process to the acquisition.

Im Bereich Business Optimization übernimmst du operative Verantwortung für die Weiterentwicklung eines unserer Unternehmen. You take responsibility for the operational development of a portfolio company. This can range from the implementation of individual projects to being fully responsible for the Value Creation Plan.

New Investments

At DEDIQ, we actively approach companies ourselves when we are convinced that we can be a good partner for their further development. In addition, we are active in classic sell-side processes in our focus areas.

You will work with us to develop investment theses, search for attractive target companies, help define investment cases and value creation plans, and get involved in approaching target companies. In transaction processes, you will support the due diligence, take responsibility for workstreams, or manage the entire acquisition process.

Your tasks:
Supporting operational projects in the portfolio:

You will actively work on a wide range of operational issues and solve problems end-to-end – tasks can range from optimizing sales and logistics processes to setting up reporting structures and designing a business intelligence (BI) strategy.
You will be directly involved in the operational processes of the portfolio companies, giving you valuable insights into the structure and functioning of the companies.

Support with deal flow and acquisition and sales processes:

You will lay the foundation for sound investment decisions by independently conducting research on potential investments, analyzing market trends, and creating company profiles.
Analyzing financial and company data to support M&A transactions will be an integral part of your responsibilities.
You will prepare presentations, pitch decks, and other relevant documents needed for negotiations and sales talks, thereby contributing significantly to the success of our transaction processes.

Dein Profil:

Enrolled student (m/f/d) at a college or university in Munich, with the capacity to work 15-20 hours per week for us
At least in the 5th semester of a bachelor's degree program or already in a master's degree program
Students from fields such as business administration, management, finance, business informatics, consumer science, and economics are particularly well suited to our environment, However, we also welcome applicants from more distant fields if they meet all other criteria
At least one previous internship in the areas of consulting, VC/PE, M&A consulting, or growth start-ups
Strong interest in the combination of entrepreneurship and investments
Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint Communication and teamwork skills

Your tasks:

‍Our goal is to develop you into a manager on the DEDIQ platform for portfolio companies who can think like an entrepreneur and take on operational responsibility for the further development of business models. For this reason, it is essential for us that you, as an associate, quickly gain real operational experience in our portfolio companies. In practice, this means that you will spend at least your first year at DEDIQ directly in one of our portfolio companies, for example in the areas of finance or corporate development. Here is a brief overview:

For example, you may invest the majority of your time in M&A activities as part of buying/selling processes, but then support operational projects in one of our affiliated companies for a longer period of time, e.g. in the areas of finance or corporate development.

If you enjoy doing business and perform very well, the operational role may also be long-term — you have the opportunity to embark on a management or entrepreneurial career with us. When and for how long you are in an operational role depends on the opportunities available on the dediQ platform and, of course, on your personal strengths and interests.

Your profile:

Internships or initial experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or start-up/scale-up environments
Excellent analytical skills, a strong understanding of financial figures and business contexts
Motivation to work in both operational and strategic areas and develop innovative solutions
Degree in economics, engineering, or natural sciences
Committed team player with a high degree of initiative and independence
Confident use of software relevant to the job, such as MS Suite, and the ability to quickly learn new tools
